Pupil Premium

All schools have a duty to ensure that all students are given the best possible chance of achieving their full potential. The Pupil Premium is additional funding given to schools so that they can support disadvantaged students and close the attainment gap between them and their peers.

Pupil Premium is a fund provided by the Department for Education to enhance the education of students who are deemed to be from a disadvantaged background. It is provided for those students currently in receipt of Free School Meals (FSM) or have been, at any point over the past 6 years (FSM6). Looked After Children (CLA) and Children with Parents in the Armed Forces are also eligible to Pupil Premium Funding.

We use the Pupil Premium to fund three whole school activity types:

  • High quality classroom teaching
  • Targeted intervention
  • Supporting enrichment
