Bewerley Park 2016

Bewerley Park 2016 proved to be a resounding success and provided some tremendous experiences for all participants. According to the staff at Bewerley Park it was the best group of students from Selby they have ever had!  The visit had a fantastic start to proceedings with beautiful weather to help further lift the spirits of the pupils.  The resilient Year 8 pupils revelled in their first set of challenges and they maximised their opportunities in each of the tasks they faced.  The learning did not stop once they had devoured their evening meal. The evening activities were undertaken with the same vigour as those in the daytime; a night walk, orienteering and problem solving tasks were all keenly completed.

The highlight of the evening activities for all was the disco on the last night; never before has Bewerley Park seen such commitment on the dance floor as the pupils celebrated their last night at the centre.  All the activities provided a thrilling and challenging experience for the pupils, the most enjoyable of these appeared to be the ghyll scrambling, high ropes course and one lucky group who had perfect sailing conditions with the Commodore of the Yorkshire Dales Sailing Club.  The week was, yet again, a great week for the pupils to develop their skills in outdoor activities and a great chance for them to learn a little bit more about themselves.
