'Witches'

On 8th December 2016, 94 excitable students left Selby High School on two coaches to visit the West Yorkshire Playhouse for our annual Christmas visit. This year we were going to enjoy Roald Dahl’s ‘Witches’. We arrived in the nick of time as the performance began right away; we were wowed by incredible stage design, gymnastics, magic, black outs and some truly terrifying witches! In the interval the students enjoyed an ice cream before the second half began. Dahl’s message was clear at the end of the production: family and love mean everything – an important message at this time, and any time of year, when we celebrate together. At the end of the show there was a confetti explosion above our heads and the actors came out to chat with some of our students. Another memorable year in the history of SHS theatre – thank you Year 7 for joining us.
