Students take part in AMP Awards

On Monday the 3rd of March, 21 students from Selby High School took part in the AMP Awards at the Barbican in York.  The students were made up of a year 8 band called Misunderstood and a Business Team of year 10 and 11 Business Studies Students. The band had to write and perform two songs at the event and had worked very hard for weeks before to make sure they were fully prepared for performing in front of hundreds of people.  They also had to compete against 5 other bands from various schools who were mostly in year 12 or 13.

The business team were responsible for the Social Media and Marketing of the event and had to work as a team to produce an E-Newsletter to promote the event and also promote themselves during a 15 minute presentation in front of the AMP Awards judges.

All of the students involved worked really hard to prepare for the event, and although they did not win on the day, they enjoyed every minute and cannot wait to take part again next year!
