Snowdonia Adventure 2018

The Year 9 pupils who went on the Surf Snowdonia trip had a fantastic week. On Monday 2nd July the group went to the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield. Once there, the pupils had a tour of the world class facilities, watched World Championship Wheelchair Basketball matches and took part in Table Tennis and Boxing workshops.

On Tuesday 3rd July the group travelled by coach to Surf Snowdonia. On arrival the pupils participated in a two and half hour Surfing workshop in the countries only purpose built surfing lagoon. Following a fantastic dinner in an amazing Tipi, the group watched England beat Columbia in the World Cup.

On Wednesday 4th July the pupils took part in Splash and Crash which involved an inflatable water assault course and the blob, where pupils were catapulted into the air before landing in the water! In the afternoon, the group travelled to Blaenau Ffestiniog and took part in Titan (outdoor Zip Wiring) and Cavern (Zip Wiring in a Cave). The activities really tested the pupil's nerve but they all succeeded.

On Thursday 5th July the group travelled to Betws Y Coed to participate in outdoor activities that included Zip Safari (Zip wiring between trees), Forest Coaster (ride through the trees), and Skyride (giant swing).  Following the activities, pupils returned to Selby High School, tired yet exhilarated.

On Friday 6th July the group went to Xscape Castleford to take part in a range of activities that included a Skiing/Snowboarding session, Laserquest and Bowling.

The pupils had a fantastic adventure filled week where they travelled to Sheffield, Castleford and Snowdonia. We are looking to take another group of adrenaline seeking pupils next year. Well done to the pupils who came this year and thanks to the parents for their support.
