Selby High School student Ellie Jomeen to Join Mensa

Y11 student Ellie Jomeen aged 15 has been invited to join Mensa, the high IQ society, after gaining an outstanding score of 163 in the IQ test higher than Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking.

The test is offered to high ability academic students within school. Ellie said: “Apparently the test measures your mental intelligence. It was all multiple choice and the questions got harder as you went along. I got 163 and to get into Mensa you have to have 150. I was really excited as it’s a really good thing to have. You can put it on your CV and it’s a good thing to say in job interviews when you’re older. Stephen Hawkins and Albert Einstein are both thought to have IQs of 160.”
