Selby & Goole Community Pride Awards

The Selby and Goole Community Pride Awards, organised by Drax and supported by the Selby Times and Goole Times, are an annual event set up to recognise and reward inspirational people of all ages from across the Selby and Goole area.

Every year hundreds of unsung heroes work to make our community a better place. Whether they have given up their time to help and support others, set up local initiatives, inspired young people, achieved exceptional academic or sporting success, overcome adversity or even faced hardship with courage and determination, these awards are about celebrating the very special people who give us pride in our community.

This year there are 14 award categories, comprising eight Community Awards and six Young People Awards.

Four students from Selby High School were lucky enough to have been shortlisted for their categories and were invited to the award ceremony which took place on Thursday 12th November at Drax Sports & Social Club.

Leeomi Boocock was nominated for the category of ‘Community Award’.

Zoe Belding, Issie Spray & Jessica Williams were nominated for the category of ‘Sporting Future’.

Staff and students at Selby High School are so proud that all four students were deserved winners of their respective categories, well done to them all.
