Gracias & Merci to Novotel York
On Monday 15th December 14 students from year 8 were invited to spend an afternoon at Novotel York (part of the international hotel chain) to find out how foreign languages are used in business nearby.
The students were greeted on the day by Hotel manager Christophe Ughetto who presented to them how the hotel operates day to day accommodating needs of guests from any number of culture and nationalities. In addition the students had the opportunity to show their knowledge and skill in a France v Spain competition in which both sides had to advertise why people should visit France or Spain, in the language they learn. Although the competition was fierce it was an even draw at the end of the day and all students had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.
