Creative Writing Workshop with local Crime Author

On Friday 15th October, some of the year 9 students had the priviledge of attending a creative writing workshop with local crime author, Ray Clark.

The students have been learning how to develop their Gothic narratives. They have learnt how to write a gripping first line and most importantly, they have learnt how to critique and edit their own work, which is crucial for writing development.

Ray also spoke about his own personal writing experiences, introduced his books and spoke about his journey as a published author.

All of the year 8 students also received a talk by Ray in an assembly.

Some of Ray's books are available to loan in Selby High School's LRC.

A huge thank you to Ray for giving us his valuable time, the students thoroughly enjoyed the visit.
