Aesthetica Short Film Festival

On Friday 4th November, 15 year 10 media students experienced a wide range of British and European filmmaking at the BAFTA qualifying Aesthetica Short Film Festival in York.

The students enjoyed a range of comedy, drama, documentary and dance films from the UK, Belgium, Netherlands, Australia, USA and Norway, broadening their horizons beyond the usual fare served up by television, multiplexes and YouTube.

Particular favourites involved an intelligent mosquito called Annabel, a colourful portrait of UKIP supporters, some deer turning the tables on humans, a Jewish  butcher taking a job in a Halal butcher's shop and skateboarding in the Arctic circle.
