100% Attendance Awards 2015

This morning Selby High School welcomed Mr Grant Gibson, Chair of Governors’ and the Vice Chair of Governors Dr Helen Billington.  The two governors were invited to the school to present 100% Attendance Awards to 157 students in a special assembly in the main school hall.  Each of the students in the assembly had attended school every day during the academic year 2014-15, this is an incredible achievement.  During the assembly members of the senior leadership team congratulated each year group in turn and reiterated how proud they were of the achievement.  The students were each awarded an attendance pin badge, to wear on their uniform along with a framed attendance certificate.  The best prize though, awarded by the Headteacher, Mr Paul Eckersley at the start of the assembly was a ‘Fast Pass’ for a year to allow the students to access lunch first.  Attendance at Selby High School is excellent, with an above the national average attendance rate of over 96%, so these students really have gone the extra mile. Hopefully, next year even more students will step up to the challenge and aim for 100% attendance.
