The Carnegie Book Awards 2015

The Carnegie Book Award is awarded annually to the writer of an outstanding book for young people. The winner is chosen from a short list of nominated books and is rewarded with a medal and the glory of winning such a prestigious event.   Schools are invited by the award committee to set up Shadowing Groups to follow the process and choose their own winner using the same criteria within the designated time. This year, Selby High School and Brayton High School, with support from Selby Public Library, are once again running a joint Shadowing Group.

We are all busy reading the shortlisted books - there are eight on this year’s list so we all have lots to do. Mr Martin from the English Department has joined us for the challenge this year and it is his personal quest to finish all of the books that have been shortlisted.

If you would like to look at our group page go to the following web site, select Reading Groups, then Selby High School. http://www.carnegiegreenaway.org.uk/shadowingsite/
