Do Your Research

At Selby High School we want to ensure that our students are enabled to make informed decisions about their future career pathways. We support them in a number of ways to develop knowledge and understanding of different qualifications, career pathways and the world of work. It is equally important that they increasingly gain independence in making decisions about their future. To help them with this we signpost students to where they can find impartial and accurate careers information and how to use this information to help them decide what pathways might be best for them.

This page of the website provides links to help students research career information for themselves, either independently, or with the support of parents/carers/guardians, to supplement the direct support they receive in school.

An impartial online careers guidance and information program that helps young people plan their future and make informed decisions. It is ideal for 13-19 year olds, providing young people with a personalised experience based on their interests and educational aspirations to suggest suitable careers. They can explore these suggestions or look at their own career ideas; they can then see how well matched they are to them.
