Curriculum Area Leader for Modern Foreign Languages


Required:  April, 2018 (a September start is also possible)

Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR 2.2 (with recruitment points available for a suitably qualified candidate)

GENERAL TEACHING ASSISTANT

Two maternity cover posts starting in February 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter, one until July 2018 and one until December 2018 (in the first instance)

30 hours per week (term time only)
Band 4 Scale Point 9-13 (£15,375 - £16,491)
£10,639 - £11,412 (actual salary)

Required to support students in lessons and in the Student Support Centre when they have been withdrawn from lessons for extra work. Good interpersonal skills are necessary. 

Experience of supporting students in a primary or secondary setting would be useful.

BEHAVIOUR & ATTENDANCE LEAD OFFICER

Band 9, SP 25-28 (£22,658 – £24,964 Full Year, £20,207 - £22,264 Actual)

Hours:  37 hours per week, term time only plus 2 weeks

 

 

Are you ambitious and passionate about supporting students to overcome barriers to learning?  Would you like to make a difference?  An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of the Selby High School team and join our Student Support team.  The successful candidate will ensure that highly effective systems are in place to monitor, analyse and evaluate the school’s work in relation to attendance and the Positive Behaviour for Learning Policy.  Reporting to key leaders on a regular basis they will support and develop initiatives that improve attendance and remove barriers to learning. 

They will have the ability to engage, support, challenge, inspire and motivate students to achieve our high expectations for attendance and behaviour, and so realise their full potential. 

The successful candidates will possess a high level of initiative and the skills and confidence to deal with challenging situations. Prospective candidates are advised to study the person specification and job description for this post carefully

The successful candidate will have:

  • a calm but assertive personality with the ability to gain respect and develop firm, but fair, relationships
  • a presence that commands authority
  • the ability to deal with difficult situations and find the most appropriate solution
  • excellent behaviour management skills
  • a flexible and proactive approach
  • excellent Word, Excel and administrative skills

Ideally, we are looking for a candidate who has experience of a similar role. You will be highly proficient in the use of Word and Excel and able to develop complex reports using data uploaded from a variety of applications.   A thorough knowledge of SIMS (or equivalent) and its reporting capabilities would be an advantage but is not essential.
