Number Day

On Friday 1st February, we celebrated all things numeracy at Selby High! We had a number-themed non-uniform day to raise money for NSPCC (the affiliated charity). Both staff and students wore their numbers proudly and we raised £857.53 for this worthy cause.

Numeracy was on the agenda for every lesson that day as well as form time; every subject included a cross-curricular numeracy activity to show how important those number skills are throughout school. To create some additional numeracy excitement and competition, students participated in a form number quiz - they had to match up their answers to members of staff – with prizes up for grabs from the winning form groups!

During Maths lessons students took part in a numeracy carousel, enjoying lots of different number-based activities such as Yahtzee, a Beetle Drive, Bingo, Top Trumps and Dominoes.
